Which awards

Recognition lists and prizes that matter in data, AI and tech: company lists (Forbes AI 50 and Cloud 100, CNBC Disruptor 50, TIME100 AI, Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, CRN's AI 100 and Cloud 100), research prizes and paper awards (the ACM Turing Award and ACM Prize, the IEEE Medal of Honor, NeurIPS and ICML), partner of the year awards (AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks) and product awards (Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice, the Webby and Golden Kitty awards).

Where winners come from

From each organizer's own list, with a link on every row: Forbes' list data for the AI 50 (2023 to 2026) and Cloud 100 (2023 to 2025), ACM's announcements for the Turing Award (2023 to 2025) and the NeurIPS blog for its paper awards (2023 to 2025). Awards whose winners are not loaded yet say so on their page; they are added list by list, never guessed.

Companies and people

Companies carry their companies.fru.dev registry slug and domain: the registry's own record where it has the company, otherwise the website the organizer published, otherwise a domain checked by hand. People are shown with their public professional role at the time of the award, with an initials avatar and no photo.

Next dates

Most awards announce in the same month or two each year. The next date is the next of those months after the latest edition read, shown with a dashed outline as an estimate until the organizer announces a date. Rolling awards (Gartner, Golden Kitty) have no single next date.

The monthly run

On the 2nd of each month at 12:15 UTC a run reads only the awards whose announcement window is open (this or last month is a usual month, or the expected date has passed). Forbes lists are read from Forbes' own data and publish directly; winners parsed from prose (the NeurIPS blog, and the Turing Award list, which cites ACM) publish as Unverified until checked by hand. No model and no paid search are used.

History

Nothing that changes is overwritten silently. Every edition read, winner added, rank that moved, next date that moved and review decision writes a row with the old value, the new one, when and the source. The Changes page lists them and /api/changes serves them. /api/companies lists every company with its registry slug, domain and dated awards for companies.fru.dev.
